Day 16 in Alder Cover

It's Sunday! Which means turnips, the only day I purposely set an alarm.

But we couldn't put off the inevitable, we needed to see who we would be stuck with from the camp site. I dislike this as there's a way of choosing or influencing every other villager on your island.

Eh could be worse, could be better. He's obviously not one of the two smug deer we could have got but I can survive.

Since he's enjoying the camp so much his house is right next door, and this totally isn't to keep him out the way while I work on the island

Fauna and Shino got into an argument today, and Fauna decided to clear the air by sending her a gift

A full length dress with pearls. Which is annoying as that was one of the gifts I had planned for Shino. Oh well at least they are friends again.

With the terra forming getting closer, I spent this evening cleaning my island of weeds and planting the remaining seeds, as well as placing some furniture, in hopes of getting that three star rating as soon as possible.

And finally there was a beautiful aurora over my island which I spent some time enjoying before finishing for the day.

ive been playing too much animal crossing. they're like people to me.

i just. woke up from this dream about an “animal crossing x beetlejuice” collab.

so. i dreamt i read about this collab online somewhere. and immediately opened acnh. and in isabelle’s daily announcements she was talking about the rumors of beetlejuice floating around during october. and when she absentmindedly said his name three times, the entire town hall began to shake like an earthquake and she immediately panicked; hurriedly ending her announcements before the fade-out. you hear some crashing before the loading screen, and when you leave your house you notice the entire island’s “season” is. this dichromatic purple & black instead of the usual fall colors. there’s a brief dialogue bubble that pops up of the player wondering if this was beej’s doing after isabelle’s slip-up…

then beej appears right beside you like. poof. he’s as big as the elephant villagers and his sprite is animal-crossing style, but?? he’s fully voiced to the point where he follows his dialogue virtually word for word?? and he sounds like keaton’s beej?? and he tells you that he’s taking over your town until november 1st and he expects you to run some errands for him in the meantime since ur the representative. he then tells u to meet him at town hall before going poof.

also, he constantly calls ur character “kiddo” or something adjacent. (edit: i think he’d also call u “rep”, as in representative)

so u get to town hall, and tom nook is. not happy. that beej has put a pink dog collar on a timid isabelle and is now giving her headpats and calling her a good dog. nook then notices u and switches from angry to sheepish; telling u that beej was waiting on u and to sit at isabelle’s desk to talk to him. i forgot what his requests were exactly, but they involved gathering certain foliage/creatures for some reason (and some of the things he has u gather are materials which only appear during the event), and beej has a run-down on how he’ll give u rewards (crafting recipes) for fulfilling his requests and gives u the first request before he goes poof; and isabelle looks relieved as she admits that, even though she liked the headpats, the attention got overwhelming after some time. she’s still wearing the dog collar throughout the event btw.

the villagers had stuff to say about beej too. i only talked to a snooty & a lazy, but the snooty villager said tl;dr she found beej disgusting and the lazy villager said tl;dr he thinks they could be friends if beej was nicer.

u can talk to beej a bit while ur looking for the stuff he wants, and one of his dialogues involves how he finds “izzy” endearing and would keep her as a pet dog if he could… he also pops up when u complete a request to simultaneously give u a crafting recipe as a reward and also give u his next request before disappearing again.

when u complete all his requests before november 1st, u find him at town hall giving isabelle more pets; where he congratulates u but also reminds u he’s not leaving until his planned date—much to nook’s annoyance—before beej leaves town hall w/ a poof again. u can still interact w/ him around the island until then.

Day 17 in Alder Cove

We started today greeting our newest resident, and despairing at his choice of decor.

And thanks to Tom Nook, immediately placing a plot down

Guess it's time to villager hunt.

Bam continues to be a sweetie, I loved this interaction with him.

I also loved talking to Erik, he has great plans for the pear I gave him.

I finally managed to catch a sturgeon today ( tip take switch out of its dock and use it's sound ques as apparently there's enough of a sound delay to mess with the rare fish through my computer)

I was very lucky with my island today, hitting four money rock islands quickly

I was less lucky with villagers, it took me all evening to find a deer today, even getting my hopes up a few times seeing horns in the distance... Only for it to be a goat.

But tomorrow we shall have a new resident, and I'll go hunting for another deer to hit three villagers to hit that three star ranking.

Completely unrelated, but I’ve had the random urge to play animal crossing all week. And I’ve felt this weird connection to Isabelle. Strange. /s

(I’m so sad that I never got to play New Leaf, but I had a DSI instead of a 3DS so I couldn’t play any of the cool games 😔)

i definitely think they have all their dreamies!!! dustin absolutely makes his own amiibos so i think he helps everyone get who they want. i also think he gets involved in a lot of discords and treasure islands so even for the 8 new villagers that didn’t have amiibos at the time, he def had a billion nmt and was very lucky with villager hunting lol. in terms of who their dreamies aaarrrrreeee…

mike: lucky, ankha, wolfgang!! i think those are the only 3 he super cares about and likes to have a rotation + enjoys villager hunting. he just vibes with whoever and isn’t super picky but i think he’s attached to the 3 i picked because he had them in new leaf and they’re his Friends.

will: ruby, coco, sasha, gaston, teddy!! i know that him being bunny coded is affecting my vision but i’m correct. he lovvveeeesss bunnies and i think he’d love ruby and coco so much bc they’re cute but also a little creepy looking so he’d feel bad for them. and i think gaston is so silly looking that he is obsessed with him. teddy is bc he reminds will of a real life walter :)

max: agent s, hazel, keaton, katt, bob!! quite a few but she’s definitely super picky. i think she hardcore judges villagers for being ugly but has also decided some “ugly” ones are so ugly they’re cute (hazel and katt) and they are her ride or die’s. she didn’t seek them out they sought Her and she vibes. definitely hits villagers she hates with a net and sends them hate mail even though that increases friendship with them lol. hates sheep villagers.

el: dotty, audie, pekoe, beardo, greta, scoot, tia, faith, dobie, papi!! obviously a full list but she went through and made sure she had one of each personality type and doubled up on her fave types (normal and peppy). she is def into aesthetics but also thinks some of them are funny!! like scoot with his hat and beardo (who reminds her of hop)

lucas: benjamin, lucky, daisy, butch, shep, cherry! truthfully i think he loves dogs and would have a whole dog island. the ones listed are his absolute faves and the other spots he kind of just rotates as necessary until he finds a personality combo that he likes!!

dustin: raymond, marshal, shino, sherb, zucker, merengue, julian, judy, roald, pietro!! sorry that he is the way he is. he sells villagers on the black market and then just puts them back in his town. it’s not my fault (it is).

2 me they all share a nintendo switch online family plan, so they all technically have hhd! i think mike, dustin, and el are the only ones who actually really play it tho. el tells will he would love it and will doesn’t listen but he might suddenly have another interest in acnh and specifically hhd starting in september 2023. who knows. (i know.)

also you didn’t ask but dustin and mike time travel. sorry about it!!!!
